The Iranian Revolution which overthrew the monarchy in February 1979 and proclaimed the Islamic Republic of Iran sent shockwaves around the world. The choice made by the Iranian people was of crucial historical importance: it shaped the course of the country’s development and also influenced the political climate of the entire region. Countless books and articles have been written on the causes and consequences of the Revolution, alongside no end of documentaries films. The aim of our compilation "Not A Time To Betray" is not to evaluate the events of those days but to try to convey the feel and mood of Iranian society in 1978–1979.

The compilation includes the work of nine musical projects from Russia, Germany and the UK. Audio cassettes were randomly circulated in Tehran and Bandar Abbas in January 2018.
